for therapy i see an intern specializing in art therapy, and an excercise that we do sometimes is one where i draw a body, and color it in according to how i feel emotionally. i wanted to share a few examples:

the first time i did it, i thought that i didn't realize just how much anxiety i was holding within my body at the time. something that my therapist will ask after the excercise is "what is this telling you that you need to know?" and i'm often clueless as to what i should know. that i feel bad all of the time? that im anxious? but i think she's looking for something more profound than that. i am too.

i think im supposed to know something about myself that is supposed to help me figure out how to cope. which i try already to do. i think the past year ive felt pretty burnt out. which is frustrating, because the thing you're supposed to do when youre burnt out is rest. but im a senior in college who can't afford to lose scholarships over a gap year. not only that, but i dont get enough money from family to support myself fully, so i absolutely would have to work a full time job. i live far away from my family. i would absolutely be on my own for that.
